Setting Boundaries Worksheet

When you do not set clear and healthy boundaries with others, you put yourself at risk of being mistreated. Without proper boundaries, the people in your life may mistreat you and not realize it. This is because they do not know that the way they are approaching you is upsetting you or simply does not work for you.

Boundaries are an important part of relationships because they set expectations for others about how you want to be treated. Boundaries also prevent feelings of resentment and disappointment. They do so by ensuring that others clearly understand how you want to be treated.

People tend to appreciate it when you let them know your boundaries because then they are not left guessing or assuming things that may not be true about who you are or how you want to be treated. The people who do not respect your boundaries may not be healthy people for you to have in your life.
