Positive Belief Record Worksheet

A major part of learning how to cope with feelings and emotions in therapy is to understand how negative thoughts affect our thoughts and emotions. When a person is feeling a great deal of negative emotion, like anxiety, depression or anger, that person will also have negative thoughts.

A major way to learn how to cope with those negative thoughts and feelings is to know how to balance the negative with the positive.

About This Worksheet

This is the Positive Belief Record worksheet. This worksheet is designed to teach users how to balance negative thoughts with positive thoughts. It is important to understand how our thoughts affect us, and how to counteract the negative with the positive.

By using this worksheet, the user will be able to use a visual aid to learn how to understand your thoughts and take control over the negative thoughts that trigger the bad feelings.

Instructions

The goal of the worksheet is to balance the negative thoughts with positive thoughts. On this worksheet, the user will see a scale. Whenever the user has a negative thought, he or she is to write it in the box on the Negative Thoughts side of the scale. Then, he or she will balance the negative thought with a corresponding positive thought on the right side of the scale.

This will teach the user how to balance thoughts to make negative feelings less intense.
